We get a lot of emails and calls asking about work experience placements or internships, which we are not in a position to offer. Anyone looking for these would be better off contacting the larger agencies that have established programmes in place. And foreign students may fare better at UK branches of the big international agencies, where their experience and language skills may be more valued.

To find the larger agencies, a good starting point might be the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA), or see which ones appear regularly in Campaign magazine.

For students wanting to become creatives, a couple of good starting points are D&AD, and this excellent advice written by Dave Trott a long time ago - but the principles remain true today. And Scamp is an excellent blog which offers great tips as well as interesting articles on the creative side of advertising.
